Phyllis Ann Hooker and Harold Kerry Limbaugh were united in marriage Sept. 3 in an afternoon ceremony at the Hickory Hill Upper Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hooker of Shelbyville. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Hooker of Shelbyville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Clardy.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Limbaugh of Winchester. His grandparents are Nola Limbaugh of Winchester, the late Charlie Limbaugh, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Branch.

The double-ring ceremony was performed by Bro. James Eidson with music provided by pianist/soloist Shirley Cunningham and vocalist Ted Daniel.

Decorations for the wedding scene included a golden candle entwined with ivy and adorned with white satin bows, and an arrangement of white carnations and baby's breath. The setting was completed with several green ferns.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory taffeta, the bodice of which featured an overlay of embroidered Chantilly lace and a sweetheart neckline. The lace-edged cathedral train was caught at the waist with a bow above deep-tiered, rippling folds. The long pouffed sleeves were appliqued with medallions from the lace. Her fingertip veil of illusion was attached to a floral headpiece accented with pearls. She carried a cascading arrangement of white rosebuds entwined with lilies-of-the-valley and stephanotis.

Beverly Daniel of Shelbyville served as her sister's matron of honor. The junior bridal attendant was Michelle Hooker, also of Shelbyville. Their burgundy satin formal gowns featured short cathedral trains, pleated and caught at the waist by large bows. Flower girls Alisha Hooker and Ashley Hayes wore pink print dresses and carried baskets of flowers.

Michael Limbaugh of Winchester served as his brother's best man, and Joel Daniel of Shelbyville was the junior groomsman. Nicholas Hayes of Winchester was the ringbearer. Ushering were Jeff Hooker and Jim Hayes.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church, hosted by the parents of the bride.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Gatlinburg, and are making their home in Murfreesboro.

On the evening preceding the ceremony, the groom's parents entertained with a rehearsal dinner at the Golden Corral in Shelbyville.

Prenuptial parties for the couple included a lingerie and china party given by Mrs. Bill Daniel, a gift tea hosted by Mrs. Marie Blackburn and Mrs. Marty Gordon, and a gift tea hosted by the ladies of the Estill Springs First Baptist Church.
