Sources and Notes: Unknown Newspaper (San Gabriel Tribune?), June 1965 Azusans Pledge Troth Wed in Catholic ceremony Azusa - Hues of pastel green and yellow lent seasonal accent to a wedding solemnized by the Rev Gerald Rodin at Saint Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Azusa. The bride was Rita Eileene Daniger, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Edmund W. Daniger of Azusa. Claiming her in marriage was Roger Evans Schumacher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schumacher of Azusa. In keeping with the green and yellow church appointments, bridal attendants were attractive attired in matching hued gowns of chiffon and lace accented with bouquets of contrasting carnations. They included maid of honor Caroyl Hoffmeister and bridesmaids Josephine Daniger, Denise Daniger and and Kay Schumacher, sisters of the bride and groom, respectively. Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the former Miss Daniger carried a cascade of white carnations centered with an orchid in complement to her wedding dress of Chantilly lace and silk organza. Enhancing the gown?s traditional styling was a bouffant veil of delicate illusion gathered to a floral headpiece. Walter B. Schumacher Jr. attended his brother as best man for the late morning rites. Robert Jenks, Craig Hartwig, Fred Pfaff and Richard Hartwig seated the 250 guests. On hand to felicitate the pair during the ensuing reception at the Covina Bowl were the bride?s aunt, Mrs. (Mary Francis) Geraldine Smith of Boston and Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Roberts of Concord California. The new Mr. and Mrs. Schumacher are now residing in Covina following a honeymoon at the beach. |
