Advance, March 30 - Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd S. Morgan and daughter, Patricia, of Advance entertained at dinner Wednesday evening to honor Mrs. Morgan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Drum (above), on their 50th wedding anniversary.
Besides the honorees, other guests included Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Drum, daughter and son, Joanna and James; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Drum; Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Jenkins; Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Zimmerman; Early Proffer and daughters, Kathryn and Mary Lou; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ralph Proffer and son, Dennis Joe; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wilson Drum; and Mrs. Harold D. McFarland, all of Advance.
A daughter, Mrs. Early Proffer, is a medical patient in a Cape Girardeau hospital and was not able to attend.
Mr. and Mrs. Drum were married March 29, 1894, at the home of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Watkins, in Jackson. They have six children: Mrs. Proffer, Raymond Drum, Joseph R. Drum, Mrs. Boyd Jenkins, Mrs. Lyman Zimmerman, and Mrs. Lloyd Morgan
They made their home on a farm in Cape Girardeau County until 1914, when they then moved to Advance where they still reside.
