Sources and Notes: Sikeston Herald, Sikeston, Scott, Missouri, June 2, 1960 "The cat was out of the bag" when Mrs. M. L. Limbaugh entertained with a luncheon for her niece, the former Nancy Bowman at her home on Saturday. Announcement of Nancy's marriage to Louis Moore came as a surprise when the guests were asked to find their places at the luncheon table. Daisies in pastel shades formed the other decoration with a white cat emerging from a cellophane sack holding a ribbon imprinted with silver letters and the words "Nancy and Bud - Dec. 24, 1959". The guests received corsages made of daisies and the house was decorated in spring flowers. -------- Mr. and Mrs. Robert Byron Bowman of Sikeston announce the marriage of their younger daughter, Nancy Ann, to Louis Howard Moore on December 24, 1959. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend La Von Baylor of the First Methodist Church of Cairo, Illinois. Nancy attended Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Missouri, and received her B. S. Degree in Biological Science and Home Economics at Southeast Missouri State College on May 23, 1960. Her social sorority is Alpha Chi Omega, and she is a member of Kappa Omicron Pi, Home Economics Fraternity. Mr. Moore, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lon F. Moore, of Sikeston is attending Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy at Rolla, Missouri, majoring in civil Engineering. He has completed his military service and will be with the Missouri State Highway Department until September. In the Fall the young couple will be at home in Rolla where Mr. Moore will complete his education. |
