Sources and Notes: Sikeston Herald, Sikeston, Scott, Missouri, June 4, 1942 The wedding of Miss Margaret Bowman of Sikeston and Robert Wesley Howard of Roswell, New Mexico, which occurred at the home of Rev. T. L. Bess, pastor of the Methodist church at Benton on Sunday, May 24, was announced to friends this week. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Bess in the presence of Miss Gertrude Harrison of Cape Girardeau and Aviation Cadet Edwin Milkey of Phoenix, Ariz. Cadet Harold Nobak was also present for the ceremony. The three young men were at the Missouri Institute of Aeronautics and with the class that completed their primary training here and were transferred to Waco, Texas last week-end. For her wedding dress the bride chose a lime green suit of gabardine with Navy blue accessories. She wore a Navy grosgrain off-the-face hat with orange blossom trim. Her other accessories were of Navy blue. Mr. Howard wore the usual dress suit of and Aviation Cadet. Mrs. Howard, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bowman, is a graduate of the Sikeston high school, having completed her work with the class of 1936. Since graduation she has been employed in the office of the Scott County Milling Company as a stenographer. Cadet Howard is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Howard of Roswell. He completed his basic training at the Missouri Institute of Aeronautics in Sikeston and was a member of the class transferred to Waco, Texas last week-end. Mrs. Howard accompanied her husband as far as Texarkana, Texas, and returned to Sikeston the first of the week, where she will continue her work temporarily. |
