Bowman of Marines in St. Thomas Church Reception Held In Home Mrs. Carfield Swift and Miss Maryo Nichols Attendants - Lee Bowman Best Man Washington, Oct. 10 - Miss Eleanor Noyes Hempstone, daughter of Captain Smith Hempstone, U.S.N. and Mrs. Hempstone, and a granddaughter of Theodore W. Noyes, was married here today to Lieutenant John Webster Bowman, U.S.M.C., son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Reed Bowman of Sikeston, Mo. The ceremony was performed in St. Thomas Church by the rector, the Rev. Dr. Howard S. Wilkinson. A reception took place at the home of Mr. Noyes. Mrs. Garfield Swift of New York, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Miss Maryo Nichols of Cincinnati, who was the bride?s room-mate at Farmington, was her maid of honor. The other attendants were the Misses Myra Noyes, cousin of the bride, Mary Francis Rollow, Claire Snow and Zelah Millard, all of Washington; Betty Fort of Annapolis and Mary Morehead of Tucson, Ariz. Lee Austin Bowman was best man for his brother. |
