Sources and Notes: Anniversary, June 1981 Kistners Wed 50 Years Cape Girardeau - Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kistner, 32 Camellia Drive were honored with a reception in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. The event was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Bechel, brother-in-law and sister of Kistner. Hosts were sisters of the couple, Mrs. Bechel, Mrs. Leola Poston and Mrs. Inez Statler. Servers were Kimberly Williams and Robin Balogh, great nieces of the couple. Among the guest present was Mrs. Kistner's mother, Mrs. Myrtle Seabaugh. Kistner and the former Trula Seabaugh were married June 27, 1931, at Benton. Their attendants were Mrs. Poston and Pearl Poston Masters. Mrs. Kistner retired in 1972 after 42 years employment at International Shoe Co. Kistner also was employed at International Shoe Co., and was an auto mechanic until he retired in 1974. |
